The Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute Gala is one of the fashion highlights of the year, dubbed the Sartorial Parade of who’s who in the most elite of social circles. This year the institute celebrates British designer Charles James, known for his refined taste and elegance, and Ms. Anna Wintour editor of Vogue. Anna Wintour receives a special gift of having the Costume Institute re-named in her honor as the Anna Wintour Costume Center.
Although there are lot of other details to discuss, like First Lady Michelle Obama cutting the ribbon at the newly named Anna Wintour Costume Center, most of you really only care about the red carpet fashions and who’s wearing what. Beyonce, Jay-Z, Erykah Badu, and Naomi Campbell all hit up the red carpet wearing Givenchy.
Lupita Nyong’o however steals the night with this beautiful Prada number that looks like it was designed specifically with Lupita in mind.
Rihanna takes the edgy approach in Stella McCartney, and Kim Kardashian-West plays it safe in Lanvin, but Kanye West on the other hand looks quite fly in his Lanvin tails. The couple have definitely mastered the art of smizing. “Continue Reading…”
Zoe Kravitz doesn’t seem to be wearing any panties under her Topshop dress with the thigh high split, Janelle Monae is adorable in Tadashi Shoji, and Zoe Saldana is just simply elegant in Michael Kors.
As far as couples, Chanel Iman and A$AP Rocky, are the cutest, their chemistry is so strong. LaLa Anthony accompanies her husband, Carmelo Anthony in his tails and top hat.
Solange Knowles in 3.1 Phillip Lim along with Nicole Richie in Donna Karan are probably two of my favorite understated looks of the night:
